BCS National Championship Bound

Completed this commissioned piece for a customer, looking good! With Bama National Championship bowl bound I have received several orders for pitchers like this one. The pitcher is hand thrown and hand carved the following day to create the classic Bama "A". These are food safe high fired pitchers, dishwasher safe. Roll Tide!!!

Elijah Cade Green

Guess what? I became another Papa on December 15, 2009. Elijah Cade Green was born, all 8.0 lbs 20 inch of him. This makes Amanda and Charlie's second child. Both he and Amanda are doing well. He has a head full of dark hair and some hands that look like they could throw some clay...

Blue and Red

Wet And Cold

Well as is typical the Alabama winter is here... Wet and cold. The Wehadkee Creek is flowing quickly with the recent rain and the temperature is dipping so the wood stove feels nice in the pottery studio. Trying to catch up on the Christmas decorations this week.

Great Christmas gift... a Stoneware Piggy Bank finished with a beautiful Leopard Agate glaze.

Ash Look Alike Glaze

Fresh out of the kiln. Click on this photo to get a close look at the glaze. It looks close to an old fashion ash glaze and would be perfect to have some buttermilk on any table.

What A View

This is what I have to look at every day, I know a terrible thing but someone has to do it. Wehadkee Creek Falls, just out of Rock Mills Pottery Studio & Gallery's back door.

Turkeys Are Out !

Hey it is Turkey month! I made one as a joke for a friend and received orders for six more. Not your typical coffee mug that is for sure.

Here is a follow-up from the teapots. One sold the day I opened the kiln so I do not have a photo. I have included a bowl from the same fire, it is what I call a "Tuscan" look.

Indian Relics Fired

They do look primitive and they do look as if they were fired in a fire pit. So I guess they will do as Creek Indian Relics.

It Happens!

When I was bisque firing this Indian relic piece blew up!

Indian Relics

In the kiln today are pieces that I made to resemble creek indian relics, can't wait to see how they fire.

Created three teapots today on the potter's wheel. Made the pot, spout, lid, and handle. They will need to dry a week before I complete the first kiln fire.
